Don't despair! I had a friend who's son outgrew an egg allergy gradually. At first he could only tolerate baked products with egg and not pure egg product. He ate cookies, and other well baked items. Over time he has built up resistance to other egg product too.

Good luck! We'll be thinking of you.... I'm twitchy for days after we pass a challenge, and keep waiting for the allergy to resurface.

Glad it was only mild, and so very glad that you caught it.

I just found out my 2 1/2 year old son is highly allergic to garlic. We never suspected it and always assume it was a dairy intolerance that caused his instinal issues. Now i am overwhelmed with the amount of food that has garlic in it, he eats it all! I really need help sorting it out does anyone have a website that would be a good resource?

I started reading your blog about 2 weeks ago and I still cannot wait to try the egg-free challah recipe you posted. I was so happy I found this blog and then I was so happy that your daughter passed the egg test but sad for me that you might not post yummy (and kosher) recipes anymore. I am sorry to hear what you went through with the french toast, although it sounds promising that she is in the process of "growing out of it."

My 1 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with egg and peanut allergies, and he is also likely allergic to dairy. One day after spending TOO much time in the kitchen preparing food for him, I came online to find other moms who are going through the same thing and I found your blog. Keep up the good work and I hope your daughter can eat eggs without reactions!

Hooray for you!! That is great news. Being able to bake with eggs again must be great! I think I could handle the wheat allergy if I could get eggs back. Hopefully some day!

I have similar things happen with my daughter and her friends and it's wonderful to see.

It's the children that accept their friends with food allergies more than the parents do, I've found. The kids are used to it.

I agree that we should celebrate these little triumphs when we come across them. :)

I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's allergist. Are there others relatively close to your house that take your insurance? If so, I would switch immediately. A trusted allergist that is a good fit for you and your family can make this road a whole lot easier.

ha haa, I was surprised to find that you blogged the brownie recipe....but I can't tell you how much of a sweet treat this recipe has been to us. I haven't quite mastered it being gooey (maybe I've been over cooking them) :) But at least their not a pit of oil, OR crumbly...

But I'm REALLY REALLY glad that you might not have to use this recipe:) Of course it's always handy when you've run out of eggs and want something sweet:) I'm holding out for my littlest ones to be egg-free soon..... we'll see what happens:)

And I'm soo thankful you have a good allergist that you like...mine is the pits!! He gave my husband every possible test to figure out what he was allergic to last year.... finally in desperation my husband decided to eliminate milk (since his 3 children have milk allergies) and not 12 hours later the allergic reaction was GONE:) Why wouldn't an allergist suggest eliminating milk with my husband's family history (which he is VERY aware of)?
