It's the children that accept their friends with food allergies more than the parents do, I've found. The kids are used to it. This has happened to me with my 4-year old. He'll ask about the snack we're bringing to the pool/playground and why that's what I selected and if the friend is allergic to whatever it is we're bringing. He's very good about washing his hands and face now after eating the peanut butter so he can go play with the other kids....just in case. We have several friends allergic to many things.
